Quality Corporate Director

The Quality Corporate Director will manage established construction quality assurance procedures & quality control programs and ensure that all project quality objectives are being met by site teams. In addition, he/she will be responsible for preparation of site specific quality plans, shop inspections, weld maps, ensuring the site teams are scheduling/coordinating NDE/lab testing, and follow-thru with reports. Overseeing all project site teams composed of Site QC Manager(s) and other QC Inspector(s).
Duties and Skills:
Author ASME, ISO 9000 Quality Systems, Inspection procedures, Inspection checklists, and project specific Quality Plans
Requires knowledge of Codes/Stds
Requires understanding of Gemma work processes and project requirements
Ability to write effectively
Obtain/maintain ASME & National Board Code Stamps
Plan tri-annual ASME Code Stamp survey
Plan and implement tri-annual system implementation demonstration
Special Process subcontract administration of Civil, NDE, PWHT, and metallurgical labs, including liaison with Authorized Inspector
Requires knowledge of Codes/Stds
Ability to obtain pricing, negotiate terms and conditions, write subcontract
Technical skills to review results of civil, NDE, PWHT for compliance to Code
Oversight of Welding Engineer
Requires technical knowledge of metallurgy and Codes/Stds
Ability to source test plates, filler metals, and testing laboratory
Author welding and brazing procedures
Oversight of Site Quality Manager and Quality Engineer
Plan HRSG interconnecting piping assembly
Prepare Weld Maps, assign welding procedures, NDE, and PWHT for high pressure and main steam piping systems
Prepare boiler hydro plan and manage implementation
Prepare ASME Data Reports
Review and comment on tech specs during bid process
Major Equipment Shop Inspection & Testing Manager
Identify equipment/service requiring shop I&T
Specify appropriate level of I&T, and prepare inspection checklists
Schedule and manage shop inspections
Recruit and train QC Specialists
Requires networking contacts, and ability to write and place ads
Ability to train employees in a structured manner
Records Manager
Define content of construction QC records
Coordinate turnover from Construction to Start Up
Auditor
Plan and implement job site compliance audits

Essential
Qualifications:
15
years of experience running industrial level quality assurance & quality control within the Power Industry.
Broad understanding of all related engineering & construction disciplines (civil, electrical, piping, structural, mechanical, etc) Broad understanding of construction activities associated with these large power plant EPC projects.
CWI certification, specific experience on combined cycle power plant projects is a PLUS
Knowledge of ASME, ACI and similar codes is a must
Willing to travel (50%)Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
